"The Deadlock" - by Rayne
As is the case with many guilds, the choice of which faction to join hasn't been an easy decision at all. My guild does like to role-play, and has an appreciation for the storyline. I'm by no means a professional writer, but here is something I came up with that puts an artistic spin on the dilemma we're facing:
The Deadlock
"The Acolytes of Lyssa, a guild dedicated to the goddess of illusion and beauty, determined to root out the evils of their homeland Tyria, while using the mind as their weapon, were about to face the most difficult decision...
One early spring day, a skilled, but overconfident Mesmer known as Rayne Nightfyre took a stroll by herself out of Bergen Hot Springs, intending to give the mindless Gypsie Ettins a swift beating. After clearing Nebo Terrace of the menacing Ettins, she stumbled across a material not known to Tyrians. It shone with a gold-red brightness as it glistened in the sun. Rayne thought to herself: “Wow, now this would make for some lovely attire!” After consulting her resources, she learned it was a material from a land called Cantha. So she searched for more, but was sadly unable to find any. Suddenly the sound similar, yet different, to a Necrid Horseman howled through the clear breeze. She immediately called to her side several of her guild mates, and together they cautiously approached the Necromancer boss named Mukesh the Merciless. Although it was a tough fight, the Acolytes came off victorious. Little did they know what they had paved the way for by killing off this guardian...
* * *
No more than a week later did the Acolytes of Lyssa receive notice of their next assignment. They were introduced to two young lovers from this land of Cantha, named Meika Ulrikar and Dalos Ekarus. Their faces showed a look of agony and despair. Dalos was from a nomadic tribe called the Luxons, and Meika from a well established and civilized order referred to as the Kurzicks. All they asked of the Acolytes was to speak with each of their factions, and try to make peace. It didn’t sound too hard, so the Acolytes agreed and ventured north to the newly established settlements. They first spoke with the Kurzick ambassador, Baron Ulrikar, followed by Seaguard Ekarus, the Luxon representative. Of course the Acolytes didn’t tell them that their children were in love, but they were able to convince them to get along. The Acolytes returned to their pleased quest-givers, and accepted their reward.
Just a few days later, Lionguard Neiro sent the Acolytes of Lyssa an urgent message, telling them to immediately head north to the settlements. When they arrived at the settlement in Nebo Terrace, Baron Ulrikar had a stricken look on his face. Apparently, Meika had been kidnapped, and the Kurzicks were preparing to strike back at the Luxons. Before saying anything, the Acolytes spoke with Seaguard Ekarus at the Luxon settlement to see what was up. Of course, Dalos had supposedly gone missing also, even though both Meika and Dalos were still hiding out in Lion’s Arch. So the two factions had gone back on their word to restore the peace, and were planning to annihilate each other from Tyria! Bewildered, the Acolytes returned to the Cave of Lyssa, on the far southeastern border of the Shiverpeak Mountains to try to make sense of what was taking place. After discussing it among themselves, and consulting allies of theirs, they still had no idea what to do. They did notice, however, that each side did share one thing in common—hatred for each other. They also related how Baron had seemed more calm, and that they admired the Kurzick’s high order and sophistication. So the Acolytes of Lyssa agreed to ally with the Kurzicks in their war against the Luxons; rather, posing as the Kurzick’s allies. The Acolytes’ true plan was to play on this hatred each side shared, intending to somehow unify them.
* * *
So Rayne and the Acolytes of Lyssa awaited their letter from Master Togo, which would signal the beginning of their journey to bring justice, unity, and peace back to the lands of Tyria and Cantha..."
I'm open to constructive criticism, but keep in mind I removed some of the details to give focus to what I wanted. Also most people are familiar with the three quests Establish the Settlements, Can't We Get Along?, and Crush/Destroy the Kurzicks/Luxons, so I purposefully left out some detail. So I hope it shed some light on our stand on Factions.

Nope, not only you. Since it's ran by Mesmers, that's self explanatory.
But I did originally post this in our guild's website, so of course these events are written from the perspective of our guild.
